Lovely quaint hotel. Perfectly positioned to experience the Rocks area and Circular Quay. Service was so welcoming as soon as you stepped foot into the establishment. Feels as though you are entering a library without the feeling of having to be quiet. Rooms are clean and comfortable with an old day feel. Can be quite noisy with the unique alleyways presented behind, but I liked the vibe indeed. It was quite expensive for a standard room, $575/night, but the location makes it worthwhile. Plenty of eateries surrounding and morning coffee only footsteps away. 24-hour convenience store across road, which is also handy. I'd be back for sure.

We arrived early from New Zealand (8:00 am) and our room was not ready. Of course, we didn't expect it to be. Josh and his team let us leave our 5 bags and 4 backpacks securely in the hotel while we ventured around Sydney for the day. They said they would call when the rooms were ready but nobody did, which was fine as we were busy exploring. We got back to the hotel around 3:00 p.m. and both rooms were ready; a double twin for our sons, which was very spacious, and to our surprise, the penthouse suite for my wife and I. This was an upgrade! We never expected such treatment and certainly didn't do anything to deserve it. Everyone at the hotel was extremely helpful and kind, from Josh (manager I assume) to Wendy (maid services) and everyone else I wish I could remember the name of, they all did remarkably well at making us feel very special. My wife really didn't want to leave. But alas we had to the next day. They kindly arranged a van for our transport to the airport, which was a nice change from a cramped Uber. Only issue would be there is no elevator for people. There is a lift for luggage for the second and third floors which is not a problem. They will also porter your bags to your room. Thanks so much Harbour Rocks. We will be back...maybe for New Years Eve next time, and definitely in the penthouse!

Booked and paid months in advance but room was not ready at check in time. The wait in the foyer area was far from comfortable and when allocated a room, there was no lift access - there was a luggage lift- the bathroom was minimal storage-wise and in general space. This is not a 5 or 4 star hotel as advertised. Location was good, coffee in the restaurant was good. However, we would not recommend this hotel as a place to stay in Sydney.

We had 2 rooms booked for a family overnight stay and were given Rooms 213 and 212. Both rooms were very tired and poorly fitted out. For example, in 213 the mini bar fridge was accessed by a cupboard door that scraped along the dirty carpet and this action caused the laminate to rub and wear off, leaving bits on the floor. As mentioned carport stained and was the only chair in the room, which chair had butt indentation with accompanying stains! The bathroom was fit for one person only at a time. Beware when sitting on the toilet as water splashes down your back from the heavily leaking tap! (Maybe this is why the chair was in such a filthy state!!😳) Air conditioner had to be turned off whilst sleeping as every 5 minutes a very loud electrical hum was on repeat. Room 212 with twin beds was not in a better state. The first time we've seen a TV on a ceiling-to-floor pole - very bizarre! Thought it might be due to Heritage building laws, but the air conditioners were poorly attached to walls and looked like they have been there since the 1990's. Time to turn the lights up and take a good hard look at what you are actually giving customers. Other rooms might be better, but we won't be back nor recommending this Sydney accom. Very disappointed. ps Don't bother eating at the Crepe place belonging to the Heritage as it was overpriced and poor quality. NB one positive standout was that the Reception Staff were excellent.

After checking in we find out the boutique hotel had no elevators. Just a utility elevator for the luggage. It was a difficult climb especially as I had an injured knee. Once in the room, it was so small there was no place to put the luggage in an open position so the luggage was always closed. The bathroom was so small! There was a tiny shelf over the sink to put a few toiletries. To use the sink after rinsing one's mouth you had to bend low enough to get under the shelf that stuck out over the tiny sink. The mattress was thin and too soft. I figure we got the "heritage" style room. There was one chair in the room at the desk, but it had to pushed under the desk at all times to get from the bed to the bathroom without tripping. We had this hotel booked for us by a vendor. Apparently we did not pay enough to get a room for two adults, so we got this miniature room. We couldn't keep a glass in the bathroom as the shelf was shaky and we didn't want to take the chance of the glass falling. --The staff was pleasant and helpful. The included breakfast was very good.

Thank you to all the staff that made our stay amazing. Our room had a faulty air con system and the staff went above and beyond to rectify the situation. Moved to even nicer room and a bottle of Moet Champagne and chocolates were left for us to apologise for the inconvenience. A great hotel in an amazing location. Highly recommended.
